The HN Brands and team have grown exponentially over the last few years into what is now both a digital and in-person brand experience. We believe at the HN Brand that a brand cannot serve without being grounded on a powerful mission. That mission needs to come not only from you as the business owner, but from the team as a whole.
No business can maintain longevity without a mission to ground them. The same goes for a team. In order to serve clients to the best of your ability, you must first identify the unique purposes that each team member contributes to functioning as a cohesive unit. You cannot create long lasting commitment in your team unless you create a mission that aligns with their values. To carry the legacy.
With that, it’s important to identify your why and communicate that with your team. What are you doing? Who are you servicing? What’s the mission behind it all? Being united in your mission is the primary and integral part of developing a high performing team and impactful business.
Here’s the truth, we don’t have all the answers. In fact we sometimes don’t have the right ones or an answer at all. Which is where your team comes in.
It’s a hard pill to swallow but, even as leaders, we all experience and sometimes need teachable moments in order to grow as leaders (even when they’re hard). And when the situation calls for it, you need to be led by teammates who can provide original and valuable solutions to the problem at hand. Having unique insights at the table almost always creates new opportunities for your business to grow and scale.
You’ve heard surrender to the process – but how does that relate to leadership?
There is power in surrendering to your team so you can continue to preserve your energy in the things that are most important to you and your business. It lightens your load as a Founder and CEO so you are able to focus your energy on more important matters pertaining to your role. So take the seat when asked, and let them take the reins.
