There comes a point in every entrepreneur’s journey where you have to decide.
Not deciding what your next business move is, or the next big investment – it’s about deciding if you’re going to OWN that you’re a CEO.
I had an incredible conversation with Ashton Smith all about what it truly means to embody your CEO role. Ashton Smith is a business coach who helps female entrepreneurs embody their CEO role and scale their business for big picture income and impact. Her online journey started in the blogging space, but after being in the online world for a short period of time she realized that she was more of a hobbyist. Once that mindset shift happened, everything changed. Through her experience, she realized that steps she was doing wrong and made the pivot to help female CEOs so they can increase their income and provide their clients with an impact like no other.
To Ashton, CEO embodiment looks like, “actively, intuitively and uniquely leading your business forward.” She encouraged entrepreneurs to focus on leading their business forward, creating an impact, and creating cash flow.
But before diving into those steps it’s important to look inward and build self-trust. It’s so easy for entrepreneurs, creatives, and honestly just as people to look at what everyone else is doing and their ‘highlight reel’. When our focus and energy are scattered we develop ‘shiny object syndrome. It’s tempting to look at what everyone is doing and saying but it actually gets us to this point where we become confused as to what we want to do and we’re not actually going deep in any specific area.
A person embodying their CEO role takes in a blend of learning, growing, and absorbing information, but also going inward to be introspective and asses, “how does this feel in my business?” Finding that clear focus and prioritizing that first is where we find that clarity. t’s so easy to lose track of what you’re working towards and focus on everyone else. Instead, it’s important to make sure you know what makes you unique.
